September 2008 marked the beginning of Esphyr Slobodkina’s centennial. As part of a two year-long celebration for this pioneering abstract artist and author of the children’s classic Caps for Sale, the Heckscher Museum of Art in association with the Slobodkina Foundation has organized the first national exhibition of Esphyr Slobodkina’s work. Rediscovering Slobodkina: A Pioneer of American Abstraction is largest and most comprehensive retrospective to date and a most fitting tribute to this distinguished artist and beloved children’s book author.
Please help make this landmark retrospective great by participating in this important fundraiser. Contact us at 516-674-0776 to make a donation.
